Free workshops: Help your child read and spell
IBN is offering parents of children in Kindergarten to Year 2 the opportunity to help your child develop better reading and writing skills.
We have been working with the Dyslexia-SPELD Foundation (DSF) of WA to develop a program specifically for children in the Pilbara and would like as many parents as possible to join us in this exciting opportunity.
IBN and DSF will be running a series of workshops across the Pilbara, starting in Hedland.
The program is called ‘BOOST’ and it looks at:
- The sounds in words
- The alphabet
- Putting sounds and letters together
- How to be a good reader and speller
- Tuesday, June 18, 9.00am till 2.30pm, at the IBN Office on Brand Street, South Hedland.
- Wednesday, June 26, 9:00am – 2:30pm, Wakathuni Community Centre, Wakathuni Community.
Parents will receive a Literacy Pack containing information booklets, a DVD, games, reading cards and other resources to support what is covered in the workshop.
If you would like to be involved please complete the Hedland registration form or the Tom Price registration form and return it to IBN. For more information please contact Glenda Dawson, Field Officer, on 1800 014 401 or email email@example.com
