Community Programs

IBN provides a range of programs and services to improve lives of the IBN Community.

How to apply

Step 1

Choose the Community Program you need from the Community Programs Handbook (Effective 1 July 2018 to June 30 2019)

The handbook provides a summary of what is available under each program, conditions/exclusions, required documentation and how to apply. For more information call the Community Programs team on 1800 014 401.

Step 2

Download and complete the application form

Make sure you fill in everything and attach any documents we ask for. If you submit your application without the required documents it cannot be processed.

If your registered address with IBN does not match the address on the application form you will need to complete the Update Personal Details form before we can process your application.

Step 3

Send your completed application form to IBN.

Step 4

IBN will contact you to let you know the outcome of your application. Processing times are different for each program; these are listed under each Community Program. Check the processing time before calling IBN.

Step 5

Not happy with the outcome? You can Appeal a decision.

Dependent Children

If you are an IBN Community Member, or legal parent/guardian caring for a dependent child under the age of 18 and wish to access help from IBN for the child/children you will need to complete the Dependent Child Advice form

Once your application has been received and all required documents provided it will be registered with IBN and assessed. We will let you know the outcome. If your application is approved your dependent child/children will be added to the IBN Community Members Database. You can then apply for IBN benefits to help in supporting the dependent child/children.

Please note: Biological children of IBN Community Members may apply to join IBN from the age of 16. Once their membership has been accepted they are no longer considered ‘dependent’ and can apply for benefits directly.

Home Support for Elders and Members on a Disability or Age Pension

Extra help is available for IBN Elders and people on Age or Disability pensions via IBN’s Service Delivery Team.
IBN can assist with:
• HACC meals.
• Accessibility home or vehicle modifications and/or mobility aids.
• Vehicle servicing.
