LACHLAN HAUGHEY – IBN INDEPENDENT DIRECTOR
Lachlan has been working in the native title trust and Not-For-Profit industry for more than ten years and has developed extensive experience working with Aboriginal communities and Trusts across Australia as well as many community focussed organisations in the sector. He feels privileged that through his work he has been able to familiarise himself with Aboriginal culture and the connection to country that Aboriginal communities promote.
Lachlan has over 20 years’ experience in the financial services industry. He has held roles in sales and marketing, consulting and business development. Previously Lachlan has held senior regional executive roles as SA, WA and NT State Manager for ANZ Trustees and Equity Trustees and most recently as a specialist Adviser on native title trusts and NFP investment mandates for Perpetual Private.
Lachlan’s work through this time has centred on acting as trustee and investment manager for large indigenous trusts, which hold the native title rights and interests of the aboriginal people on trust, as well as significant work with not for profit mandates and philanthropic structures. These are relatively large accounts which continue to grow markedly due to their future fund style investment timelines and asset mix. Included in his work was his involvement in the Noongar Boodja Trust with the WA State Government.
Lachlan has extensive and wide-ranging experience, having established trusts and held the relationships Investment Management service groups within indigenous and general not-for-profit entities. Lachlan has tertiary qualifications with a Bachelor of Commerce majoring in Finance and Commercial Law. He has also completed a graduate diploma in Financial Services that included study in Investment Management, Superannuation and Insurance.
