INTRODUCING JOHN IPSEN – NEW IBN CEO
The IBN Group formally appointed its new CEO to the company in January 2021. John has taken up his position in the South Hedland office and officially commenced in the role on February 1st this year.
John was born and bred in a small country town of Manjimup in the South West of WA, he went to Boarding School in Perth and graduated with an Associate Diploma of Applied Science many years ago. He is married to Karen and they have two adult daughters.
John has over 35 years of experience within commercial business industries throughout most states of Australia. Functional and Leadership roles include Chief Executive Officer, Company Secretary, Chairperson, Company Director, General Manager and Chief Operating Officer with ASX listed and private companies, Sporting Organisations and Not For Profits. His extensive background and experiences in building and managing diverse businesses and organisations stands him in good stead to make a valuable contribution to the IBN Group.
John spent 2020 as a Business / Executive Coach and Mentor with a major company based in Perth, although this role took him to many parts across northern Australia, including the Kimberley and central Northern Territory. The purpose of his role(s) was to provide coaching and training for the senior operational management team. Areas of focus included (but not limited to): Driving Culture through Behaviours and Standards, building Staff Morale, Strategic Planning Principles, Project Management, Communication Skills, Corporate Governance, Compliance, Risk Management, Budgets and Financial Management, Gap Analysis, Training as well as Leadership and Management coaching.
Outside of IBN, John is also heavily involved in sports administration and has well established roles and responsibilities in cricket and football. He is currently the Vice President of the East Fremantle Football Club, the Vice Chairman of CricketWest WA and has just completed the coordination, development and completion of the WA Country Football League’s Strategic Plan.
John is formally media (public speaking) trained and accredited and has facilitated and presented at many conferences and MC of numerous events.
John is a very big believer and teacher on the importance of values and culture where he stresses the importance of respect, unity and being professional (always).
In summary, John is very much looking forward to working with the IBN Group, its Board, Staff, Rep Corps and Members and adding value in areas where he can.
