Event Details

Purpose: IBN youth Job Readiness Programme aims to help young people get ready for work. This includes engaging young people in meaningful participatory work, relevant education and training programs.

Growing up without a role model, some young adults have no adult, carer or guardian in their life to help them understand what getting a job is all about including, turning up on time, or first day etiquette. If you do not have anybody to teach you how to present to an employer, how to write a CV or an application it can be difficult to get a job. Having a caring adult to drive you to work or interviews, and provide money for lunch is so important when you are applying for jobs for the first time. The youth program will take individuals through various preparatory activities;

  • CV and cover letter writing support
  • Mock interviews to practise and build confidence
  • Transport and support for interviews
  • Assistance to travel to and from employment/education
  • Industry visits and learning

This engagement program supports young people to complete courses such as First Aid, RSA, Traffic Control and White Card.
