Shooting Stars is a not-for-profit organisation working with over 15 schools in the Pilbara, Kimberley, Mid-west, Gascoyne and Southwest regions, empowering Aboriginal girls and women through education, enabling them to make informed decisions about their future. The Shooting Stars footprint in the Pilbara has grown from supporting girls in Hedland Senior High School in 2021 to also supporting students in Tom Price in 2022.
Based in host schools, Shooting Stars combines advocacy and support, engagement activities, rewards and health and wellbeing sessions to strengthen participants’ confidence, cultural identity and positive attitudes, while promoting their health and wellbeing. Their mission is to empower Aboriginal girls and women to achieve their dreams. In 2021 Shooting Stars supported over 750 female participants.
Shooting Stars are collaborating with organisations like IBN that share the vision of a just and fair Western Australia where all people thrive. Shooting stars are working closely with their brand partners to align their goals and create mutually beneficial partnerships that enhance reputation, create meaningful impact, and generate authentic engagement with our staff, participants, and community stakeholders.
Shooting Stars are excited to be providing new job opportunities in the Pilbara and have an opportunity available for a Program Assistant/Trainee.
Reporting to the Program Coordinator, the Program Assistant/Trainee will be responsible for supporting the coordination and delivery of the Shooting Stars program with the primary aim of increasing overall, school attendance, participation and engagement of female students.
