2.2 Private High School Scholarships – 2025

Benefits
Up to $16,500 per student/per school year to attend an Australian private high school.
Up to 40 scholarships will be awarded for the 2025 school year.

Eligibility
  • A dependent child listed on the IBN child register.
  • An IBN member of high school age.
  • Students must be accepted for enrolment into an Australian private school.
AVAILABLE items
  • Enrolment and tuition fees
  • Boarding fees for a school-based residence or
    hostel (if these expenses are not covered
    by the school).
  • Travel assistance (conditions apply).
  • Study expenses:
  • Computer, laptop or iPad/tablet, printer – only available every 3 years
  • Computing supplies – computer bags, software, warranties and repairs, ink cartridges.
  • Textbooks, school bag and general supplies.
  • Uniforms, sports clothing and shoes.
  • School bus Multiriders (top-ups only)
  • School canteen lunch accounts – only paid directly to the school canteen.
  • Equipment – sporting items, musical instruments.
  • School photographs.
  • Bicycles, scooters.
  • Manchester/linen (if not supplied)
  • School activities – such as excursions, camps, sports competitions, Country Week, School Balls.
  • Extracurricular activities – such as fees for before and after school programs, extra tutoring, sports clubs and competitions, music and swimming lessons.
Items NOT available
  • Private rental.
  • Food and fuel cards.
  • E-Gift cards.
  • E-scooters, E-bikes, mobile phones and smart watches.
Conditions
  • Scholarship students cannot access Pre-school to Year 12 benefits as well.
  • ABSTUDY is NOT a condition of this program but eligible students are encouraged to apply. IBN will assist you with your application.
  • Eligible students are encouraged to access government Student Travel Subsidies where available.
  • Parents and legal carers are required to allow IBN to obtain school progress reports.
  • Continued scholarship funding may be subject to satisfactory attendance and
    academic progress.
  • IBN must be notified of any change in the student’s situation.
  • IBN has the right to review and audit member purchases and any members who misuses funds for non prescribed purposes or fraudulent activities will be placed in review, that can include disqualification from future program applications or reduction in future program funds.
  • No pooling of funds unless under exceptional circumstances.

  • Supplier invoices or quotes showing payment details
  • Evidence of ABSTUDY entitlement (if eligible)
  • Student travel subsidy (DoT) or ABSTUDY fares allowance form
  • Details of other scholarships (if applicable)
  • Latest school report (for continuing benefits beyond one year)
  • Reimbursements – invoice and proof of payment
