2.3 Public High School Boarding and Travel

Benefits Up to $5,500 per financial year.

Eligibility
  • A dependent child listed on the IBN child register.
  • An IBN member of high school age.
  • Students who are boarding at residential public high schools.
AVAILABLE items
  • Boarding fees.
  • Travel assistance (conditions apply).
  • Public boarding students may access Pre-school to Year 12 program benefits as well.
Items NOT available
  • Food
  • Private rental
Conditions
  • ABSTUDY is NOT a  condition but eligible students are encouraged to apply. IBN will assist with your application.
  • Eligible students MUST access government Student Travel Subsidies and other support where available.
  • IBN must be notified of any change in the student’s situation.
Supporting documents
  • Program application form 2.3
  • Proof of enrolment
  • Supplier invoices or quotes showing payment details
  • Evidence of ABSTUDY entitlement (if eligible)
  • Details of other scholarships (if applicable)
  • Student Travel Subsidy (DoT) or ABSTUDY Fares Allowance form
